Sarah Brogdon owns and operates Fashions by Sarah . She
began her work as a dressmaker, specializing in wedding gowns
and womens wear. Her clientele, come from nearly every state
in the union. As a Christian, she began to realize Gods
call on her after a priest commissioned her to design and create
vestments for him. Sarah has continued designing and creating
vestments and beautiful wall hangings. Her work can be seen in
churches throughout the United States and in Canada and Puerto
Rico. Several of her creations adorn the walls of her home church.
She feels the Lord has blessed her with a talent which brings
people closer to God.
Sarahs work as a seamstress and liturgical artist have taken
her to many locations in the United States. She has taught classes
on many different subjects and presents programs on a variety
of topics from techniques to the business aspect. She has judged
clothing at the local, county and state levels of several organizations,
including Make it With Wool, VICCA (vocational schools), and the
Illinois State Fair. She has also taught at the American Sewing
Guild National Conference in Dallas TX.
Sarah is a past president of the Springfield Lincoln Land American
Sewing Guild Chapter. She has been featured in the national magazines
Sew News , Country Woman and Notions. Articles covering Sarahs
work have been published in the Jacksonville Journal Courier,
Jacksonville Showcase, The Franklin Times and The Current. Since
1998, Sarah has created the stage backdrop for the Illinois Great
Rivers Annual Conference. The largest stage backdrop was 15
L x 25 W.
